FAQs

Are reservations required or do you accept walk-ins?

We encourage making a reservation for the Purrlor in advance especially on weekends or for larger parties, but we gladly welcome walk-ins as long as there are available slots. The Purrlor has a capacity of 7 people at a time so as not to overwhelm the kitties. While cafe seating is for customers only, there is no charge or reservation required to enjoy the cafe space.

What does it cost to visit the Purrlor?

Purrlor pass options are $10 for 30 minutes or $15 for an hour per person These costs go towards helping us house and care for our kitties. We do not collect fees on adoptions as those go directly towards Lawrence Humane Society.

Are kids allowed?

Yes! Our kid-friendly hours for the Purrlor are 2p - 6p. We do ask no more than 2 kids (17 & under) per accompanying adult so we can keep kitties & kiddos safe. There is no charge for infants. Children are always welcome in the cafe space.

Should I avoid visiting the cafe if I'm allergic to cats?

Our cats are secured safely inside an enclosure with separate ventilation so the cafe space is totally safe for those with allergies! The enclosure is wall-to-wall plexiglass with bar seating for those who would like to sip their coffee and enjoy the view without kitties crawling on you.

Can I bring my food and drink into the Purrlor?

Definitely! Please use a to-go cup with a lid for hot beverages. We ask that you do not feed kitties human food.

How do adoptions work?

We can process adoptions on the spot at the cafe and your kitty can go home with you that day. It takes about 15-20 minutes to go over some questions and fill out paperwork. Adopters must be at least 18 years old and present a valid photo ID. We can only accept credit card payments for adoptions. You can bring your own carrier with you, leave and go purchase one or we have cardboard carriers for $6.

Adoption fees are $125 for kittens (8 weeks to 5 months) and $60 for cats (6 months to 9 years). This includes spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. The adoption fee goes directly to Lawrence Humane Society to help cover medical and care expenses.

Can I bring my own cat?

We will provide the kitties! No other animals are allowed other than service animals.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes! In addition to dairy free milk for beverages, we have a few vegan baked good options daily.

Can I rent the space for a birthday party or private event?

Maybe! Please email us at hello@espurressocatcafe.com with the date, time, and details of your event.
